Jeffco Business Center Metropolitan District No. 1
The Jeffco Business Center Metropolitan District No. 1 is a Title 32 Special District that has been established for the purpose of financing and installing street, park and recreation, water, sanitation, transportation, safety protection, and television relay and translation improvements of the District; and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the First Modification to Original Service Plan for the District approved by the City of Broomfield, now the City and County of Broomfield, on June 27, 2000, as it may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”).
The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the District. The District is located in the City and County of Broomfield, Colorado. The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that the City and County of Broomfield do not provide.
The District may incur a maximum debt of $3,000,000. Ad valorem property taxes and other legally available revenues may be used to repay such debt.
The District may assess a maximum mill levy of fifty (50) mills to repay such debt. This mill levy may be adjusted subject to changes in the method of calculating assessed valuation by state law which increases or decreases the commercial assessment ratio of 29% which was in effect at the time the Service Plan was approved.
The District must file an Annual Report with the Division of Local Government, the State Auditor, and the City and County of Broomfield Clerk and Recorder.
The District boundaries overlap with the boundaries of the City of Broomfield, Broomfield County, Regional Transportation District, Urban Drainage and Flood District, Jeffco R1 Schools, North Metro Fire, and Front Range Passenger Rail.
